INSTALLATION: ARTIFACTS FROM THE FLOOD
In 2013, Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs suffered devastating floods.
I teamed up with interns and fellow KRCC-FM reporter Noel Black to clean up the flooded neighborhoods.
We collected tons of items swept away in the waters and wanted to return them to their owners.
We worked with a gallery in Manitou Springs to put on a pop-up show and hung a curated selection of the items we found, inviting gallery visitors to donate to flood relief and share their stories about the flood and the items they lost.
The KRCC-FM interns recorded those conversations and produced an award winning radio piece about flood impact in the region.
